SA Pétanque League Convocation to the 2016 Annual General Meeting

We have a legal requirement to hold an Annual General Meeting. However, the AGM should not be considered a chore. It gives us all the opportunity to gather together, review the successes and problems of the past year and to get new people involved in the administration of the League. In this way we will all ensure that the League continues to prosper and grow with the support of clubs and players in its activities and governance.

Each club affiliated to SAPL will, in the near future, receive a formal invitation to be represented at the SAPL Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 28 July at 7 pm in the Club de Petanque d’Adelaide club rooms.Continue reading→

SA State Singles Championships – 5 June, 2016

This year’s State Singles got off to a soggy start but, fortunately, the rain cleared after an hour or so and it was largely fine for the rest of the day. A small but high quality field of contestants took to the pistes for what would prove to be a memorable day.

The Open competition was played with a slightly different format this year. It may have been a little difficult to follow but it achieved its aims of bringing the cream to the top while keeping everybody else interested for as long as possible. Despite a few upsets along the way, there were not too many surprises in the early rounds. Similarly, in the middle stages, most games were won by the higher-ranked favourites. Petanque Federation Australia Membership Update – Email from PFA

You would be thrilled to note that our membership has passed the 1600 mark and stands officially at 1604 as at the 5th April 2016 and more applications have just been received.

Please note the following for membership applications.
All new membership applications received from the date of the Annual General Meeting held at Bexley(March 25th 2016) will only be $10.This membership will expire on June 30th 2016 when memberships can be renewed. N.B. Members who have paid the $30 from the March 25th 2016 date will be credited $20 towards their membership for 2016-2017.Please forward this note to those new members who have joined recently.
