Welcome to the 2007/08 season of Pétanque. 
After the AGM held on the 26th July, the following members were elected into office, and along with your Club Representatives are your voices on the SAPL committee.

The Executive Committee is now comprised of:
Tina Stockley        President (ph 0434 604 607)
Graham Clark       Vice President
Paul Wilson          Secretary
Maite Beaumont   Treasurer.

We all take this opportunity to thank Adrian Clements for the hard work he has done over the last 6 years of his tenure as President and look forward to Adrian being the Tournament Director for all official SAPL Games.

As stated in the SAPL Constitution, some of the main objectives of this Committee will be to:   
a.  To promote the sport of Pétanque.
b.  To organise League competitions.
c.  To encourage and assist in the formation of new clubs within SA.
d.  To assist in selection of players to represent our State.

We aim to make Petanque FUN with Social functions, fundraising and well communicated updates of what is happening within our sport.  

Our Coaching Team headed by Tim Whelan is on the way to providing a transparent selection process for our next interstate representatives.

The Committee wishes you all an enjoyable and successful Petanque season.

To promote our Fun Philosophy we are proposing the following functions:

Picnic Day: The Committee is proposing an end of year Picnic Day at a Winery or Park for all League Members with Sunday the 30th December 07 being a tentative date.
Please fill in the following tear off slip showing your interest and possible numbers attending.

End of Season Presentation Dinner:    With most League games ending quite late, and raffles being drawn at lunchtime, most player presentations are not well attended. SAPL is therefore aiming to have an end of Season Presentationdinner at a venue where dinner,drinks and dance will be available. A tentative date for this function is the 12th July 08 where we may be able to remember the French origins of our game and combine this with Bastille Day celebrations.

Once again please fill in the tear off slip showing your interest, numbers that may attend and even suggested venues for the function.

Fundraising:The League as all Clubs do, needs to fundraise for many reasons.
Those being Trophies, State Representatives, Junior Promotion, General promotion, Website upkeep as well as contribution towards our proposed functions.
If you have any suggestions or donations for possible fundraisers please complete the tear off slip.
